1. What are the minimum qualifications to apply?

To apply, you must be at least 18 years old, complete all federal course training and pass the half day field test. Additionally you'll need to meet all physical and medical standards.

2. Do I need prior fire service experience?

No. Many applicants begin with no experience. You will receive all the professional training you need through our training.

3. How long is the hiring process?

Our hiring process involves your application, interview, course work and field test. It is simple, straightforward and can take as little as two weeks to complete.

4. What does the physical fitness test include?

We require The Work Capacity Test aka 'The Pack Test'. Consists of a three mile walk with a 45 lbs weighted vest in 45 minutes or less.

5. What can I expect at fire training?

You will undergo hands-on firefighting skills training and classroom learning to prepare you for the demands of the job.

6. Do firefighters work long shifts?

Yes. Most firefighting assignments are 14 day rolls at a time. You will have two days of rest and rehab between rolls.

7. What are the career advancement opportunities?

We want you to go as far as you want to take your career. We provide access to advanced training with world class instructors, coaching so you can become an Engine Boss and lots more.

8. Is the job dangerous?

Firefighting carries risk, but you will be trained to the highest safety standards. Modern equipment, strict procedures, and continuous training reduce unnecessary danger.

9. How do I know if firefighting is right for me?
